Sports Opportunites at Clayburn

Sports are underway at Clayburn at all grade levels and genders.  We have updated our calendar to include games using  home (vs)  and away (@).

Practice times are posted on the bulletin board calendar outside the gym.  Practice times can change weekly depending on the season of play and the usage of the gym facilities.

Clayburn is proud to adhere to a "no cut" athletic policy.  No cut means that if a students comes out for the team, they are on the team regardless of skill or ability.  Student athletes need to attend practices and work on skill development.   On occasion, we divide the student athetes into two teams in order to facilitiate playing time for all athletes.  Teams are not based on ability but rather numbers for playing time.

For grade 8 teams, we again, have a no cut policy and all student athletes will practice and acquire valuable skills including responsibilty, time management and sports specific skills.  To faciliate playing time, a game rosters will be posted prior to each game - students listed on the roster will play for that game.  Rosters will be flexible and fluid.

Concussions can happen in any sport and we want our Clayburn coaches, parents and students to have the lastest information on how to respond to a concussion injury.   Parents if you think your child has a concussion use the online concussion tool created by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education.

Games schedules can be found under each specific sport.
