Special Interest Day

A Professional Development Day for Kids

This year, Clayburn is pleased to offer Special Interest Day #1 on November 28, 2018.

Students will choose either an all day session or an AM AND PM sessions. Students have been provided a choice sheet and have been asked to make their choice with parent input.  All students must hand in a permission form to their pod teachers.  Some sessions (Go Kart, Hiking, and Rock Climbing) have waiver forms that must also be submitted.  

Here are the all day sessions:

Salish Weaving, Brick Flicks, Gearing Up UBC, Yearbook, Go Karting, Swimming, Amazing Race, Hiking, Castle Fun Park, and Vancouver Film School

Here are the AM sessions: 

Christmas Cookies, WEB, Leadership Seminar, DIY Bath Bombs, Chess/ Boardgames, Math-letes, Floor Hockey, Calligraphy, Open Shop, Star Wars, Driving Range, Stop Motion Magic, PowWow Dancing, Mixed Media Drawing and Painting OR Mask Making.

Here are the PM sessions: 

 DIY Bath Bombs, Chess/ Boardgames, Math-letes, Floor Hockey, Calligraphy, Open Shop, Star Wars, Driving Range, Christmas Ornaments, Escape Room, Barbara Reid Clay Art, Rock Climbing, PowWow Dancing, Mixed Media Drawing and Painting, OR Mask Making.

Below is the choice/ information sheet provided to students. Students are asked to have three options as seats are limited. 

All students will register online while at school.  If students were away during the sign up day, or they would like to change their selection, they are asked to see Mrs. Pollastretti in the office by Nov. 16. 

All permission forms are due to their pod teacher by Friday, Nov. 16.  Students who are going Hiking, Rock Climbing and Go-Karting MUST have a signed high-risk permission form signed with waiver by Nov. 16. 

Most workshops are Free but if your child picked workshops that have a fee for supplies, materials, transportation, or entrance please pay online using SchoolCashlOnline.
