Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year

Below you will find information to assist with getting ready for the first day of school....

1)  School Supplies - you can find school supply information under the Parent & Student tab then supply list.  Do not bring school supplies to school on the first day - wait for your teacher to say 'bring your supplies.'

2)  PE Strip - below you will find an order form for PE Attire.  PE Attire consisting of royal blue tshirt, navy or black shorts or leggings, and non-marking runners are required for all grades.   You can order an Athletic PE shirt made with dryfit material, Clayburn logo, numbered (in case its lost & found) from the office and and pick up in the office either on WEB Orientation Day (August 30) or during the first week of school.

3) Transportation - please see the district transportation website or the email sent directly to parents for bus pick up and drop off times and locations.  Transportation is organized by the district not the school.  Please ensure your child knows their route and  bus number. 

4) Parking/ Pick Up & Drop off @ School - there is VERY limited parking at Clayburn Middle.  Parking, at the school, for visitors is in the parallel spots as you enter the parking lot driving downhill towards the school.  Parking in the lot is for staff only.  Parents may also park on both sides of Laburnum Avenue.  Students are asked to cross in the crosswalk under supervision and walk up the stairs to meet parked parents on Laburnum.  Please be a good neighbour and do not park on Teslin, Christina or surrounding cul-de-sacs and side streets.

3) Welcome Letters - below you will find a welcome letter for each grade.  These letters will be/ were sent electronically via email in mid-August.  The letter outlines frequent questions parents and students have regarding the school.

4) Summer Newsletter  - we get a lot of questions from parents on how, what, when etc. so we've put together a Summer Newsletter with the frequently asked information -- enjoy.  Check out the PDF below.

6)  Lastly, here is the schedule for the September 4, 2018.  Wednesday, Septemer 5, 2018 is a REGULAR school day.

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4. Please note that class lists for grade 7 and 8 will be posted on Friday, August 31 after 5pm.

The schedule for the first day of school will be as follows:

8:15-8:20 -          all Grade 6’s to the Gym

  • 8:20-10:00            Introduction of Staff
  •                              Introduction of Grade 6 Team of Teachers
  •                              Welcome Assembly
  •                              Attendance
  •                              Gr 6 Team Activities

9:20-9:30                      all Grade 7 and 8’s to the Gym

  • 9:30-11am           Introduction of Staff
  •                             Introduction of Grade 7 and 8 Team of Teachers
  •                             Welcome Assembly
  •                             Attendance
  •                             Class Activities
