Welcome to Pod M! We are happy to have you in our pod and we look forward to working with all of you this school year.

Communication between the school and home is essential for student success. Please e-mail both of us as we work together as a teaching team to support your child.

Remind is a messaging app that we use to communicate quick announcements regarding pod and school activities, as well as homework. We will not be able to read Remind messages, so please email us if needed. Please sign up to receive messages with these instructions:

General Expectations:

Follow all Ministry, District, and School expectations as outlined in the student code of conduct.
Practice and uphold our school’s core values.
Be respectful to each other, yourselves, and our school.

A few final notes for our students: this is your last year of middle school, and we hope you get involved - join a club, a sports team, play intramurals, or practice a new interest or hobby.

Your overall learning and growth this year is very important to us. Please let us know if you have questions or need help with course concepts and ideas. Asking teachers for help is one of the best things you can do for academic success and will help prepare you for secondary school. Reading every day and reviewing course concepts will help too.

In our classes, we will provide time for you to work on your assignments: please use class time wisely, limit your distractions, and ask for help if needed. If you are not able to finish your work in class, then it will be for homework. Please check-in with your teachers.

As per Ministry and district policies, phones are to be kept in student lockers and cannot be in class. If you need to contact your child, please connect with the school office.

Finally, the Pod M Bears are a true pod community, and we are so happy you’re a part of it. Our pod needs to be a safe and welcoming place where everyone can learn – we all play a part in making this happen.
