Indigenous Department
Clayburn's Indigenous Department is guided by our Support Workers, Miss Sydney Ned and Mr. Jaxon Orth. In conjunction with staff, including our lead Indigenous Advocate, and support from our School Administrators, Mr. Reggie Gabriel, Mr. Paul Luongo, and Mrs. Elizabeth Smoes, our school's Indigenous program highlights an Indigenous Student Council, which hosts an annual Indigenous Family Dinner, inviting our incoming Grade 6 Indigenous students and their families, as well as participating in the Agenda Gap Study in partnership with the school district and UBC.
Our Indigenous Department also offers academic support, cultural presentations, community celebrations, field trips, and educational resources for both students and staff.
Feel free to contact Miss. Ned (sydney.nedteichrib@abbyschools.ca) or Mr. Jaxon Orth (jaxon.orth@abbyschools.ca) if you have questions or comments about the Clayburn Indigenous Program.
